Vintage Life, Janine Vangool
Full leather binding with laced-on boards. Bound in dyed fair calf with onlay and inlay. Flowers cut and soaked in PVA wash, creating texture, embroidered centers. Edge-to-edge doublures and flyleaves in paper. All edges painted. Silk endbands. Titled with kiwkprint stamped onlays.
The craquelle method of dying the natural calf sets the vintage mood and is the backdrop for my take on a vintage floral print.
